Hello! My name is Matilde Curiel, and I am the proud founder of ALMA.

As a Hispanic and lifelong Rio Grande Valley native, I’ve seen how access to healthcare can shape the health of a community.

At 16, while researching triple-negative breast cancer, I learned how gaps in education, early detection, and access can lead to devastating disparities. Those statistics reflected communities like my own. I founded ALMA to hopefully turn that knowledge into action, and to help ensure that quality healthcare is never a privilege, but a right.

It’s never too early to know your body, ask questions, and advocate for your health. Early detection saves lives.
